Laid back and rustic, with exposed brickwork and comfortable banquette seating around the walls. The roasting equipment behind the counter sets expectations before anything has been ordered.
The espresso delivers on those expectations: deep, well-rounded, and served at a good temperature. The milk is the only thing holding it back slightly. It doesn't fully fold into the espresso, leaving a persistent head throughout and taking a little away from the overall balance. Still pleasant to the last sip, just not quite as seamless as the coffee underneath suggests it could be. It arrives in a nice ceramic cup and saucer, though the serve runs slightly large for a flat white.
A roastery that clearly takes its beans seriously, and a flat white that's not far off.
